Niv Drendow Apruk is an obsessive Nihil scientist and protégé to Baron Boolan. Aloof, cold, and contemptuous, the teen very rarely shows his true feelings to anyone around him and is dismissive of both his allies and enemies. In an effort to further his experiments, Niv Drendow travels to the planet Valo, the site of the former Republic Fair, where the state-of-the-art Republic research ship, the Innovator, lies at the bottom of Lake Lonisa.
