Filling out the horn section of the Max Rebo Band is the Bith musician Barquin D'an. D'an, along with Doda Bodonawieedo and Droopy McCool, was a skilled wind instrument player.

Barquin is the estranged older brother of Figrin D'an, frontman of the Modal Nodes. A bitter Bith, Barquin resented Figrin's success since his own particular brand of music never quite took off. Determined to make it in the music business, Barquin saved up his credits and traveled to Tatooine to enlist his brother's aid. By the time he got to the desert world, Figrin and the Modal Nodes were long gone. Credit-less, Barquin started performing with local musicians and eventually insinuated his way into the Max Rebo Band. He was not at all ready for the depravity of Jabba's court, and Barquin fled after witnessing the slave girl Oola's death.

Designed from the masks and costumes of the original A New Hope cantina band, Barquin D'an was a masked performer inserted into the Special Edition release of Return of the Jedi.
