8D8 (Atedeate) was a thin, skull-faced droid who worked in the Cyborg Operations division of Jabba the Hutt's court. The piston-legged automaton was employed to torture both droids and organics. He answered to the sadistic taskmaster, EV-9D9.

8D8 was realized as a puppet in Return of the Jedi. His body structure is the same as BG-J38, a slot-playing mantis-headed droid also lurking in the background of Jabba's palace.
